Composites are the wave of the future. Get trained in the latest techniques and processes and join the next generation of technicians in the marine industry and other high-growth industries such as energy, aerospace and transportation.

The IYRS Composites Technology program teaches the skills needed to work with the latest advanced technologies, materials and processes including advanced composites molding, CAD operations, robotic CNC plug building, and composites repair. Featured CE Course: Decommissioning   

Gain hands-on experience in preparing your boat for winter storage. The course will cover: cleaning and preparing the hull for storage; engine maintenance of outboards, stern drives and in-board engines; winterizing boat systems including fuel systems, bilges, fresh water systems and the head; preparing the boat's interior, trailer and electronics for the winter; and battery storage and wrapping up the boat. 31st Annual Classic Yacht Regatta Sponsored by Panerai, Presented by Land Rover

The Museum of Yachting will host the 31st Annual Classic Yacht Regatta, sponsored by Panerai and presented by Land Rover, on September 3-5. This perennial event will once again turn the waters off Newport into a panorama of majestic classic yachts, but for the first time this regatta will be part of a three-event regional series.

Scholarships Available for Fall 2010 Programs

The IYRS Scholarship Fund has been significantly increased to assist students with Tuition & Fees for the Marine Systems and Composites Technology programs. Scholarships are available to qualified applicants enrolled in the Marine Systems program to help cover tuition and fees for the school year. Also, qualified applicants enrolled in the Composites Technology program will receive a minimum $3,000 scholarship.

Students in the International Yacht Restoration School’s Composites Technology Program, a new nine-month program that begins this September at the school’s Bristol campus, will learn their craft while building a fleet of Moths—a small, high-performance sailboat considered by many to be the fastest, most exhilarating dinghy being sailed today.
