Who We Are
IYRS powers careers in the marine industry. We are an internationally known school, focused on preparing students to enter and excel in all aspects of modern boatbuilding. With campuses in the heart of historic Newport and Bristol, Rhode Island, IYRS offers the most advanced technical training in Boatbuilding & Restoration, Marine Systems, and Composites Technology. All classes are taught by industry experts who are excellent educators.
Located in a coastal region where boating is a major part of the local culture and commerce, the school has not only become known for training fine craftsmen and technicians: IYRS is a vibrant maritime center enjoyed by the public. Its doors are open to all those who want to see how craftsmen train, and through its affiliation with the Museum of Yachting, located across Newport Harbor, IYRS is home to important restoration projects and accompanying exhibitions that draw visitors from around the world.

Accreditation & Affiliations
The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Our Marine Systems program is developed with the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) to ensure that the coursework is as advanced as industry practices. As for affiliations, we are connected to a network of Sponsors and Partners who offer support and a wide range of resources to IYRS year round.
