IYRS Fifth Annual Marine Industry Career Day
Saturday, March 6 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Fifth Annual IYRS Marine Industry Career Day on Saturday, March 6 will give individuals interested in marine careers a valuable chance to learn about career opportunities and green jobs that are emerging in the field. This year's event features a special appearance by world-renown marine technical expert and writer Nigel Calder. Calder—who has been on the frontlines of exploring new technologies that he believes have the potential to revolutionize onboard marine systems—will talk about career opportunities that are developing alongside the new technologies that are emerging as the marine industry looks for green alternatives. During the one-day event, which is free and open to the public, Career Day attendees will be able to meet with regional marine employers, including boat builders, boat yards, and marine manufacturers; learn about the skills needed to work in the boating business and the training programs where they can gain those in-demand skills; and attend informative seminars on finding employment opportunities in the marine trades and funding for training programs.

Career Day takes place at IYRS Restoration Hall at 449 Thames Street from 10 am to 2 pm. Admission is free.
IYRS offers both short-term Continuing Education and two full-time programs, including its Marine Systems Program—on maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting onboard marine systems—and its Boat Building & Restoration Program.
